About Us
Thrivin' Edibles was created as a direct result of the great benefits that Patti Searle, the owner, achieved by eating a raw food diet. It's her avenue to share this delicious cuisine with others. Patti started cooking at the age of 8 in her mother's kitchen in the Midwest, and loves making food for people. She was a chef in the cooking world for 12 years.
In early 2006, she went on a 2-week retreat near San Diego, California, where she ate a raw food diet. After a week, Patti said, "I feel so good, I feel like an alien in my own body!"
Some of the benefits Patti achieved from eating raw cuisine:
- Balanced energy (including the afternoons - no more 3 pm slump!)
- Clearer skin
- Improved gum and teeth health
- No more constipation!
- A positive change to her cholesterol level
In January 2006 her overall cholesterol was 192, HDL 54 and LDL 93. These are all 'within range' numbers for cholesterol. In July 2007 her numbers were: Overall:133. HDL 62, LDL 61. Her physician said exactly this: "Patti, that reduction of the LDL [the 'bad' cholesterol] is IMPOSSIBLE, even with statin drugs!". Patti said, "Apparently not!" Eating more veggies, whether you go 100% raw, or 50%, or somewhere in the middle, has a huge impact on how your body works.
Doing business with Thrivin' Edibles makes a difference for the world. At least 10 percent of the company's profits are invested in:
The Hunger Project (www.thp.org) and
The Pachamama Alliance (www.pachamama.org).
Check them out they're both making a huge difference in the world.
We support local farmers by purchasing most of our ingredients from them. We also buy organic whenever available.
